Via Veritas Vita

Via Veritas Vita. That's the title of my blog, at least at the moment. People have asked me what it means. It is Latin for, "Way, Truth, Life." Sound familiar? If not check out John 14:6. It's essentially the incredible line Jesus drew in the sand with one single statement. If He'd just left well enough alone, He could have been merely the "good teacher" that so many people want Him to be. But He didn't leave us that option. Once He made that statement, He's either a liar of the worst order, messing with people's eternities, a horrifically deluded loony who wound up dying and stayed dead, or exactly Who He said He is: our risen Lord and God. And that has ramifications for all of us... including us Christians, who may sometimes shy away from the exclusivity of our faith. Accusations of being "religious bigots" get tiresome! But even if people don't like to hear that all roads don't lead to Rome (including some professed Christians), isn't a stubborn adherence to the One Way ultimately the most loving thing we can do? Just something I thought about today.
